1. Who we are
ApexPDF is a mobile PDF toolkit for Android that lets you edit, convert, compress, scan (OCR), digitally sign, password-protect, split/merge, fill forms, and sync documents with third-party cloud storage. This policy is intended for users and for disclosures required by Google Play Console (including Data safety).
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may process:
- Account information — such as name, email address, and authentication credentials when you register or sign in.
- Documents & files you choose — PDFs, images, scans, form templates/presets, and related metadata you import, create, edit, or upload.
- Signatures & form input — signature images or drawn strokes, typed signature text, and values you enter into fillable forms.
- Device & usage data — app version, device type/OS, basic diagnostics, and crash-related signals needed to keep the service reliable.
- Purchase / subscription status — entitlement information related to free trial and paid plans (processed via payment providers; we do not store full card numbers on our servers).
- Cloud account identifiers — when you link Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or similar services (for example an account email or OAuth tokens stored securely on device / via our backend as needed to keep the connection working).
- Notifications tokens — if you enable push notifications (e.g. Firebase Cloud Messaging).
We do not sell your personal information. Documents you process remain under your control; we only access them to provide the features you request.
3. Device permissions
The App may request the following Android permissions:
- Internet / network state — to sync files, authenticate, process OCR/forms via our API, and manage subscriptions.
- Camera — to scan documents and capture images for OCR or import.
- Photos / media / storage — to read and save PDFs and images you select, and to export edited files.
- Notifications — to send optional service or product updates you allow.
You can deny or revoke permissions in system settings; some features will not work without the related permission.
4. How we use information
- Provide core PDF editing, conversion, OCR, signing, and form features
- Sync and replace files you choose to store with our cloud file API
- Authenticate users and secure accounts (including OTP flows)
- Process subscriptions and restore entitlements
- Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and fix bugs
- Respond to support requests you send us
- Comply with legal obligations
5. Sharing & service processors
We share data only as needed to operate the App, including with:
- Hosting / API infrastructure — backend services that store account and file metadata you upload.
- Firebase — for services such as authentication helpers, messaging, or related Google/Firebase tooling where enabled.
- Payment processors (e.g. Stripe / Play Billing related flows) — to handle subscriptions and invoices.
- Cloud storage providers you connect — see below.
- Legal authorities — when required by applicable law or to protect rights and safety.
6. Third-party cloud providers
If you link Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud (where available), or similar services, those providers process files under their own privacy policies. We only request access needed to list/import/export the files you choose. You can disconnect a provider inside the App.
7. Payments & subscriptions
Paid features and Pro plans may be billed through Google Play and/or other payment partners. Payment details are handled by those providers. We receive confirmation of purchase status to unlock features. Refunds follow the store or processor rules.
8. Retention & security
We retain account and uploaded content for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. Local caches and drafts may remain on your device until you clear app data or delete files.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (including HTTPS in transit and access controls) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Children’s privacy
ApexPDF is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Your rights & choices
Subject to local law (including GDPR/CCPA where applicable), you may:
- Access, update, or delete account information
- Disconnect cloud providers and revoke OAuth access
- Turn off notifications in system settings
- Request deletion of server-stored files associated with your account
- Object to or restrict certain processing where the law allows
To exercise these rights, email privacy@apexpdf.app. We may need to verify your request.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where local law requires additional consent.
